Webmasters review for Webs

Value for Money

Webs is very competitively priced at only $3.37 per month (2 year contract) for the ‘Starter’ package - this package includes all the essentials to get you started apart from a custom domain name. The next premium tier ‘Enhanced’ comes in at $5.02 per month including more features and benefits and the assistance of ‘Live Chat’ support. Finally signing up to the ‘Pro’ package provide access to all ecommerce options and features - suitable for online stores priced at $8.34 per month. However, these prices may be low and competitive on the face of it but Webs requires you to commit to a 2 year contract if you want to access those prices - alternatively the month to month plans come at a slightly higher price with the addition of a set up fee.

Editor & Templates

The Webs editor is definitely one of the most simplest among its competitors, the layout is clear and non-intrusive similar to that of the ‘options dock’ on an Apple Mac - displaying the options at the footer of the editor. Making good use of the drag-and-drop functionality to make building and designing easy and effective - the editing icons are very clear and straightforward. When entering the editor for the first time a ‘Getting Started’ tutorial video is showcased to provide the user with an overview of all the features - it’s pretty cool as the video is tailored to the template that was picked by the user.

On the free account users have access to a library of customizable templates, but with an upgrade to a premium package users have the freedom to explore a design on premium themes. The free templates are not as impressive, professional or well designed as Webs competitors.

Additional Features

Webs offers very little of the standard features that other website builders provide on the free account. In order to access these features the purchase of a premium package is required - for example Webs does not offer Mobile Optimization until you enter the premium tiers, this is usually a standard feature.

Guides and Customer Service

Webs customer support is not as widespread as its competitors, on the free account users have access to a support forum and knowledge base which includes a detailed library of advice guides and Webs user community Q&A submissions. In order to connect with the Webs support team via email a premium package is required - the same applies for Live Chat options, this support feature requires the top tier package.

Webs is a simple and easy-to-use builder which offers a limited selections of tools and features on the free account. The simplicity of the builder makes it very appealing to novice users. Be aware that the low prices that are advertised do require a 2 year commitment, so be sure that it is the right website builder for you - as you progress from a novice to a more experienced user this platform may become too limited for you, Webs competitors have a more extensive and robust feature set.

Webs is ranked #3 on the top 10 list
